Smart life: from technological innovation to the market. X annual conference of SIMktg (Società Italiana Marketing), an Italian marketing company

The X annual meeting of SIMktg aims to bring to the attention of scholars and managers the theme of the revolution that technology is bringing to people’s daily lives; by modifying lifestyles, behaviours, consumption and how organizations are modifying their strategies, structures and actions. The term ‘smart’, recently introduced into the technology lexicon through the concept of ‘smart cities’ can therefore be effectively extended to embrace a wider spectrum of contexts and situations. The community of marketing scholars will consider then, what is happening and what role can the marketing management play in this scenario, to benefit businesses and other organizations, but also to improve the quality of life of consumers.
