The Children’s Smart City
The project The Children’s Smart City was born out of the notion that the technologies which are available today must be put to the service of the real needs of the community and that issues such as; the environment, mobility and public administration and its relationship with its citizens should be tackled in an integrated manner in order to act in ways which would ensure the achievement of objectives that meet the needs of a wide variety of people.
Thanks to the joint work of teachers and researchers from a variety of disciplinary areas of CRIET, The Children’s Smart City aims to analyze the existing relationships between the smart city and the The Children’s Smart City project, which is a local intervention model promoted by the ‘National Council for Research’ and which is in an experimental phase in several Italian municipalities.
The aim of the project is to investigate the ties that may arise from the relationship between the enabling technologies of the smart city and the aims pursued by The Children’s Smart City, in as much as the latter represents a concrete project within which smart city innovations can find a concrete application, thereby providing a valuable contribution to improving the quality of life for the whole community.
The project, within which initial exploratory research has already been conducted, has so far attracted interest from the region of Lombardy and various Lombard local council administrations.
