Public lighting and Smart City

The efficiency of public lighting as an integral part of the development of PAES and the programming of smart cities

The meeting in La Spezia, promoted by ENEA at the invitation of local institutions, was designed with the aim of understanding and sharing the importance of energy efficiency in public lighting as an integral part of the development of the ‘Action plan for sustainable energy’ (Piano d’Azione per l’Energia Sostenibile – PAES) and the programming of smart cities.

The meeting, designed in the spirit of the ‘Lumière’ project, involved a wide variety of people from a variety of sectors all interested in the issues regarding the upgrading public lighting systems and who are involved daily in finding solutions that achieve these ambitious goals.

The initiative falls within the scope of the ‘Lumière Training Days’, which began in April and were organized by ENEA and CRIET to facilitate the circulation of the culture of public lighting between technicians and local government authorities.
