Working together for the territory – The Coldiretti ‘access to credit’ workshop
The crisis continues to make bank-business relations difficult. A peculiar characteristic of SME financing is the prevalence of short-term, bank debts, mainly affecting the satisfactory management of the financial requirements related to the circulation of working capital. The role of banks is very often limited to providing continuity of financial support to the everyday management of businesses, rather than to support strategic growth and development plans with ‘out-of-the-ordinary’ financial interventions and credit in the medium and long-term. In such a case, it is necessary to build very close informational and operational relations between banks and businesses to overcome the problem of information asymmetry that generally characterizes the relationship between financing institutions and entrepreneurs.
CRIET, together with ‘Coldiretti’, ‘CreditAgri Italia’, ‘BNL-BNP Paribas’ and other banks is offering a new service by launching a pilot project to support agricultural businesses in addressing the challenges posed by the current economic environment.
The workshop is part of the ‘Working together for the territory’ round of meetings.
